Since I wrote the articles a bit 'hard in the previous two posts, now I want to write a light topic. At the end of 2010 I was in a local position, Tateyama, a city della provincia Chiba, per fare una piccola vacanza. Io sono stato in un onsen meraviglioso e ho trascorso un momento splendido. Ma avevo anche un altro scopo, avevo infatti sentito che in questa zona c'è una statua di Buddha molto interessante: è una statua "distesa". In generale in Giappone la statua Buddha is "sitting" or is "standing, lying is not nearly as often.

The place where the statue lying that I visited is called Jourakuzan Mantokuji (Japanese: 常 楽 山 万 徳 寺). Dopo aver pagato 500yen di ingresso, una donna giovane che indossa il sari (un tradizionale indumento femminile del subcontinente indiano) mi ha spiegato il dettaglio della statua e come recitare le preghiere. Prima si bruciano 5 bastoncini d'incenso nel braciere che si trova a circa 10 metri davanti alla statua, e si congiungono le mani per pregare; poi si cammina intorno alla scala a chiocciola di 3 piani sino ai piedi di Buddha. Nella pianta dei piedi c'è a drawing of the swastika: the prayers according to the guide at this Buddhist symbol is thriving health of the feet, back, etc..
